It’s that time of year for the Public Wildlife Count again!

This year’s count will be conducted over the weekend of January 19th and 20th, 2013. Julie Kline will be registering participants when she is back in the office on January 7th and will be able to provide maps to anyone who needs them. If you have participated before and will be re-surveying the same area as last year feel free to use the same maps.

Please encourage young folks to participate and get active in the outdoors this winter! We will once again be drawing prizes for both adults and kids, providing sufficient registration.

Last year there were a few people who were surveying both days of the count and we would just like to remind everyone to please only survey One of the Two possible days to avoid double counting animals. The count was expanded to include an entire weekend so that there was some flexibility if folks had something going on one day, but were free the other. If we continue to have folks counting on both days, we’ll have to go back to a single count date and risk losing some participants.

See the links below to download the documentation that goes along with the count (the poster, the information bulletin, and the data sheet). Maps will be provided on an individual basis as needed.
