In 2014, the Fish & Wildlife division (in partnership with the Wildfire Management Branch) of FLNRO successfully treated approximately 6,800 hectares of wildlife habitat across the Peace Region of northeast BC. Areas treated with prescribed fire in 2014 will restore important forage for ungulates in significant winter range and in relation to important habitat features, such as escape terrain.
