Trap

Trap – On Sunday the 13th of April, a Trap Turkey shoot was held where 26 participants attended. This was an event that had been planned to be held prior to the Christmas season but due to weather was pushed back. A round of singles (16 yds), a round from the 23yd line, and a “Poker Hand” event was held with 7 Turkeys up for grabs. The winners of the round won a turkey while 2 others were given out using random number draws. If there was a tie then the winner was settled by a sudden death shoot-off. Thanks to the generosity of Shane, who stated he had too many in his deep freeze a couple of times, the Poker Hand saw the two highest hands win a turkey each. Each participant was only allowed to win once.

The day finished off with an Annie Oakley event and the winner went home with the resulting prize. A good day was enjoyed by all and was a bit of a warm-up for the start of the Trap League – Monday May 5th. A photo of some of the participants is attached showing Trap House 2 & 3 being used.

Another Trap Turkey Event is being planned for the fall – in time for Thanksgiving weekend.

Outlaw Precision Rimfire Series – Sunday Apr 13

The ORPS group also held a Turkey Event (Turkey or Ham) on this day with a total of 22 participants. This was in addition to the regular matches – for those competing nationally against others or those coming out just to challenge themselves with targets from 25 yards to 100 yards, with the rimfire rifle. Categories are further broken down into Competition or Production classes depending on the combined value of the equipment being used. Top Event winners were allowed to pick their item of Choice – a Turkey or a Ham. Random prizes were also given out by the Organizers to other participants. ORPS will be planning a similar event in the Fall as well to coincide with the Thanksgiving holiday.
