About The Club

Founded in 1945, the North Peace Rod and Gun Club has been a cornerstone of the Fort St. John community for generations. We’re a volunteer-run, not-for-profit club and a member of the BC Wildlife Federation.

We are advocates for fish, wildlife and their habitats, anglers, hunters and outdoor recreationalists, firearms owners and recreational shooters, and public access to public lands and public resources.

We offer a wide range of shoots, training programs, and events throughout the year, with something for every skill level and interest. From introductory courses to competitive shoots, the club is an active, welcoming place built around the people who show up.

Looking for something to do with the kids before hunting season gets underway?We still have a number of targets left over from the North Peace .22 Family Classic, including some of the youth Hunter Challenge targets.They are a great way to make range time a little more fun while helping young shooters build confidence, practise safe shooting, and get ready for grouse season or their first hunt.If you have been thinking about getting your family out to the range more often, stop by, grab a family membership, pick up one of the targets, and spend some time getting those rifles sighted in.Good preparation at the range helps make for a more confident, successful, and ethical hunt in the field.It is also a pretty good excuse to spend an afternoon shooting together. ... That’s a wrap on the 2026 Trap League season.Yesterday we officially wrapped up another season of Trap League, and what a season it was.We had a phenomenal turnout this year, watched shooters make huge improvements throughout the summer, and saw a lot of great camaraderie both on and off the line.There is also a tremendous amount of work that happens behind the scenes to make a league like this run.This year brought its fair share of unexpected turns, problem solving and negotiating, along with all of the regular organizing that happens before anyone ever calls “pull.”So, a very big thank you to everyone who helped make this season happen.To the people who showed up early to help set up, stayed to clean up, scored and marked, entered scores, helped organize, stepped in when something needed doing, and shared advice, guidance and a few hard-earned trap shooting tips along the way, thank you.That willingness to help each other is a big part of what makes Trap League what it is.We finished things off yesterday with a great day of shooting and a delicious supper, and it was a pretty fitting way to close out a fantastic season.And while League may officially be finished, trap shooting isn’t done yet.The trap range is still open, and some of us will continue getting together on Monday evenings around 4:30 pm while the weather allows.If you’ve been curious about trap shooting but weren’t quite ready to jump into League, this is actually a great time to come out.
