Open-Air Shooting Supported by Structure and Responsibility
The Outdoor Range at the North Peace Rod & Gun Club offers members dedicated spaces for a variety of shooting disciplines in an open-air setting. Designed with safety, visibility, and controlled layouts in mind, the outdoor facilities support both recreational practice and organized shooting activities.
These ranges reflect the club’s long-standing commitment to responsible firearms use, respect for the land, and shared enjoyment of shooting sports.
APPROVED CALIBERS FOR SAFE AND RESPONSIBLE SHOOTING
The Chief Firearms Office has established caliber restrictions for the various North Peace Rod & Gun Club ranges. These are based on the design, construction, and topography of the range and the backstops. The North Peace Rod & Gun Club has the calibers approved for each range posted in the Main Office and at each range.
Members are responsible for knowing and complying with all caliber restrictions before shooting. Any infraction of these rules will result in consequences such as a suspension or revocation of range privileges.
RANGE-SPECIFIC RESTRICTIONS
Trap or Skeet fields are restricted to shot sizes 7.5, 8, or 9
Currently the Skeet facility is closed!
50m Range
This range is approved for all handgun cartridges contained in the template groups .22 Long Rifle, 9mm Parabellum and .357 S&W Magnum.
Steel targets must be a minimum distance of 20 metres away from the shooting line for handgun and rim-fire rifle.
200M Big Bore Range
This range is approved for all rifle cartridges contained in the template groups .22 Long Rifle, .223 Remington, .308 Winchester and .338 Lapua Magnum.

Respect for the Land and Other Members
The Outdoor Range is a shared space that relies on cooperation and respect. Members are expected to:
- Leave the range clean and orderly
- Respect scheduled activities and other shooters
- Follow environmental and facility guidelines
These practices help preserve the range and ensure long-term access for everyone.
