About The Club

Founded in 1945, the North Peace Rod and Gun Club has been a cornerstone of the Fort St. John community for generations. We’re a volunteer-run, not-for-profit club and a member of the BC Wildlife Federation.

We are advocates for fish, wildlife and their habitats, anglers, hunters and outdoor recreationalists, firearms owners and recreational shooters, and public access to public lands and public resources.

We offer a wide range of shoots, training programs, and events throughout the year, with something for every skill level and interest. From introductory courses to competitive shoots, the club is an active, welcoming place built around the people who show up.

If you’re looking for a place to learn, compete, or just be part of something local, you’ll find it here.

With mule deer season right around the corner, don't forget the Peace Region is an important area for collection samples for the detection of Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD). We need to have around 300 samples tested annually to have any confidence that the area is CWD free and we have never reached that threshold. Although there have been no confirmed cases of CWD in the Peace, it remains a high-risk area and it is time for hunters to step up and provide samples. Why is surveillance important? Surveillance is a critical component of disease prevention and management. Since 2002, the BC.CWD Program has conducted CWD surveillance in free-ranging cervid populations, including deer, elk, moose and caribou. Most samples are collected from hunter harvested animals, but it is also critical to test cervids collected from other sources such as those involved in vehicle collisions.Drop off locations in the North Peace include the North Peace Rod and Gun Club, Stan's Custom Meats and the government building by appointment.More Information:You can find more information included how to collect and submit samples and more drop-off locatiBC Chronic Wasting Disease - CWD ProgramWD Program : www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/environment/plants-animals-ecosystems/wildlife/wildlife-conservation/w...BC Wildlife FederationFederation : bcwf.bc.ca/initiatives/chronic-wasting-Huntersforbcntersforbc : cwdbc.ca/ ...

Get out and vote in the Provincial Election. There are two more days (October 20 and 21) of advanced polls and then election day on Saturday, October 24, 2026.The North Peace Rod and Gun Club in conjunction with the BC Wildlife Federation reached out to Peace River North independent and incumbent candidate Jordan Kealy and the BC Conservative candidate Curtis Whitford to get their positions on public access to public lands, funding and oversight of fish, wildlife and ecosystems, and the use of Provincial funding and policing capacity for confiscation of firearms from licensed owners through the Federal gun buyback program. Mr. Kealy has completed a survey related to those topics as has the BC Conservative Party. Both candidates have committed to further dialogue on these and other fish and wildlife related topics should they become the Peace River North representative in the legislature.BC Wildlife Federation October 19, 2026 Election Town Hall Recording:youtu.be/2mLWIwNlIl4?si=uH8yy49hD3pJG-0UALL FIVE major parties in the Legislative Assembly (BC Green Party, BC NDP, Centre BC, Conservative Party of BC, and One BC) were in attendance.
